Mediawiki is one of the most popular pieces of wiki software. It powers Wikipedia, Wikicommons, Wikiversity and several other wikis. Mediawiki is getting closer and closer to having a what you see if what you get editor. Most of the time beginners will not have to deal with wiki source code.
