8. Not Asking Questions. edit

If you don't understand a figure (or know it by name), it's better to ask another dancer than to repeatedly get it wrong and get frustrated about it. Good times to ask are: while couples are lining up before the dance is taught, during the dance when you and your partner are “out” at the top or bottom (note that this time is much shorter if this is a “double progression” dance), or immediately after the dance. You can even ask a question verbally during a swing or other figure that gets you close enough to someone long enough to ask the question and then get an answer.
