optionally, two parameters can be used. In this case, the first parameter is a number from 1 to 7, specifying the historical stage preferred, per Image:SAG.png:
- archaic pictogram, around 3000 BC.
- rotated pictogram, around 2800 BC.
- abstracted glyphs in archaic monumental inscriptions, from ca. 2600 BC
- Classical Sumerian cuneiform as written in clay, from ca. 2600 BC
- Neo-Sumerian, late 3rd millennium
- Old Assyrian, early 2nd millennium, as adopted into Hittite.
- Neo-Assyrian, early 1st millennium
this is so far supported only for (5) and (6), for lack of fonts for the other stages.
use {{transl|Xsux|...}}
for transliterations of cuneiform, and {{transl|sux|...}}
