ComProj initiative

This section was moved from a page which had been set up to aggregate mini blog posts to a centralised blog, but which has turned out to be "too buggy" (according to Angela). The idea was to get word from Wikiversity out to other projects - and, even though I've reframed the page now with a different focus (having a group space for us, the Wikiversity community), ideas are still very much welcome for how we might go about informing the wider Wikimedia community of our work. Since the launch of planet wikimedia there have been several #wikiversity chat channel discussions about having a community blog for Wikiversity. We have Wikiversity Blog howto for support of in-wiki learning blogs, but there is apparently a technical problem which prevents in-wiki blogs from working with planetwikimedia. I wonder if we should start a page such as Wikiversity community blog and try to have it feed into the "blog snippet" system and also a more "formal" blog that would work with planetwikimedia. --JWSchmidt 23:40, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I very much like the idea of a Wikiversity community blog. However, it needn't be thought of "feeding in" to the Blog snippet blog - as far as I can discern, the latter is almost like an announcement or news system. It is thought that it might go some way to addressing the possible demise of Wikizine, which is trying to find a new editor-in-chief, as well as correspondents, in order to keep going.
