Talk:Web Science/Part1: Foundations of the web/Internet vs World Wide Web/Motivation and requirements for the World Wide Web/quiz

"information management system" was the term TBL used; however, in hindsight and without the need to use terminology established at that time, the Web is not an "information management system" as the term is usually used. It is much more a collaborative system or a knowledge sharing system or or or, but not an IMS --SteffenStaab (discusscontribs) 08:59, 4 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

what do you suggest to do? We can state the differences. but at that time CERN did have a need for an information management system. as far as I understand the semantics of this word have been evolved? --Renepick (discusscontribs) 09:01, 4 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

at one point in the course it is mentioned that WWW could have been built on a street infrastructure rather than based on TCP/IP, here it is stated that TCP/IP was needed very much. What is correct? --SteffenStaab (discusscontribs) 20:17, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

both and it is not a contradiction. it is mentioned in a video that it would have been possible. but in the video it is also said that it would not be as usuful when build on streets. --Renepick (discusscontribs) 20:19, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
