Talk:SUNY Wikimedia Project
Inspiration
editI attended WikiConference North America 2023 as a new adoptee of Wiki*, and reported on my experiences using Wikiversity, Wikiedu and teaching with Wikipedia. I sense that lots of folks within SUNY are engaged with Wiki*, but I've not noticed any community connecting us together. So I'll put this out there, and go ahead and invite interested folks to identify themselves, maybe add an introduction, and add to the "Possible Activities" section if they've got any ideas.

Introductions
editI'm a professor at SUNY Poly, where I teach in our graduate program in Information, Design & Technology, and undergrad programs in Communications & Media Design and Interactive Media and Game Design. I've got a two Wikiversity projects: Digital Media and Information in Society, a course site that uses Wikiedu and engages students in writing Wikipedia articles, and WikimediaCourse, a forthcoming Summer 2024 course in which students conceptualize, design and initiate a project on a Wikimedia platform. - Hi, Stevesuny! I'm a chemistry professor/chair at SUNY Potsdam. I haven't done much in Wikiversity, but I enjoyed your talk in Toronto, and I'm interested in learning more about your work - less for my chemistry classes and more for my general education class.
