Material from Wikipedia

edit

I've just reverted several edits by an anonymous user (User:160.253.0.7) - the material added was a direct copy and paste from Wikipedia. Material should be created on Wikiversity which is appropriate to our needs - it is unnecessary to duplicate the content of both sites to this extent - even if they will overlap somewhat. Besides, it is a violation of the GFDL. Cormaggio talk 21:35, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Book content?

edit

It seems much of the content in the material section would be more appropriate for a book at Wikibooks, and students could be directed to go read such content. Does anyone know if there are firm policies on this matter? --Remi 01:00, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are loose guidelines, but no firm rules. The Jade Knight 01:56, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
It could be a book, but I would then link the class to the book and then make a class out of it. Many great (and in no way am I calling my stuff great, it marginal) lectures have been edited into books that become succesful... just a though. The G 02:42, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
That might be better, for the parts that are text-book worthy. It would also serve as a good example of how to integrate Wikibooks and Wikiversity (I think we could use some good examples here). The Jade Knight 06:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
