Not Addressed

edit

The book Religion for Atheist describes the Feast of Fools, and has a chapter on perspective. Neither of these topics are yet covered in this course. Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 19:34, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Lessons from the Ancients

edit

Consider adding a section on “Lessons from the Ancients” that acknowledges profound insights from ancient religions. This might include the Sermon on the Mount, the golden rule, and more. Perhaps the book Forgotten Truth: The Common Vision of the World's Religions, by Huston Smith would be helpful. Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 19:37, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Recent Pew Research Survey

edit

Pew research recent completed a survey: Religious ‘Nones’ in America: Who They Are and What They Believe. Consider adding insights from that report to this resource. Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 13:16, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sacred texts

edit

There is no mention of sacred texts in this real good religion. Are they unnecessary or does some sacred text need to be identified? Perhaps studying philosophy can fill this role. Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 11:53, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Tell a better story

edit

People are influenced by stories, not so much by reason. So to promote a real good religion we need to tell a better story. Perhaps this can be organized according to the hero’s journey. Today’s conflicts are the ordeal. We need to attain the epiphany and move on toward a bright future. Is my essay “toward compassion" a candidate for that story?
