Are boson operators related to bosons[1]? If so, how? Wikipedia was not helpful and had no entry that I could easily find under search for Boson Operator. Perhaps an opportunity for us to help them out while achieving a link to our lessons here? Mirwin 04:56, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

They are used to construct the state of many-identical-bosons systems. In the sea of particles' names, Boson and Fermion are opposite, and refer, respectively, to particles which can be identical AND in the same quantum state (as photons) and to particles which cannot be in the same quantum state IF identical (by Pauli, as electrons).
