Talk:Matter and measurements

Can anybody throw light on history and origin of this magic number? Is there any experimental verification of the number worked out? There are two isotopes of Nitrogen that are quite distinguishable.

I have edited the "nitrogen" part adding "if they are the same isotope" (because N-14 and N-15 are still nitrogen but with different mass).

Avogadro's Number: 6.022x1023. This constitutes the amount in one mole of something. Eg. 12 eggs in one dozen. One mole of Magnesium (Mg) contains 6.022x1023 atoms.
