Consider Bildung

edit

(As suggested by a user) consider adding Bildung to the article. Also see: https://europeanbildung.net/bildung/ Perhaps this amplifes teh "open access learning" capability. --Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 13:11, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Aligned Organizations

edit

Several existing organizations are aligned with this work. Here is (the start of) a list of organizations that appear to be aligned:

  • StopResetGo—a growing collective of change agents who seek your support to co-create an open, digital framework for the commons, enabling citizens, entrepreneurs, activists, communities and distributed initiatives around the world to come out of their silos, converge and effectively share resources to build the future of humanity.
  • Canonizer—Consensus building tool.
  • The essay A movement with no name collects several resources that seem aligned with this work.
  • Perspectiva is a community of expert generalists working on an urgent one hundred year project to improve the relationships between systems, souls and society in theory and practice.

A section on "Aligned Efforts" may be added to the resource based on this (growing) list of organizations. (Originally created) --Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 16:06, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is now a section in the resource. --Lbeaumont (discusscontribs) 20:29, 9 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Economic Literacy

edit

"The purpose of studying economics is... to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists"

edit

Joan Robinson's statement implies that everyone needs to be an economist since every life is directly influenced by economic factors. However, the assumptions and theories that drive the thinking of economists also determine how things are managed in real economies. A host of simplifying assumptions in economics create problems in the practice of economics. A class of concepts, for example, are excluded from economic thinking for the sake of simplicity; concepts that used to be part of classical economics. Some of these are to do with distinctions between: Earned/unearned income Necessary goods/services and unnecessary ones, Selling human labour and selling the product of that labour Owning a a house one has built or bought and the rental value of the Land one has not created.

Open Foresight Hub

edit

It may be useful to incorporate insights from the Open Foresight Hub. According to their website: "Open Foresight Hub is a wiki dedicated to organizing and sharing foresight knowledge. Centered on crowd-sourced wiki principles, the Hub aims to make it possible for anyone to access and contribute to the collective effort."
