clavicord[i]um

@CarpeLanam:; probable minor spelling error: clavicordum » clavicordium --JimKillock (discusscontribs) 20:42, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

@JimKillock:; Agreed, but based on Wiktionary spelling should be clavichordium I think. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/clavichordium This retains the Greek roots and seems to have been in use in Late Latin. It's a vocabulary with many alternatives in Vicipaedia. I chose this because it seemed the simplest option with reference to the historical development of the piano keyboard. Also note that the links to Memrise courses lead to "occupation" not "objects." CarpeLanam (discusscontribs) 14:42, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks @CarpeLanam:! I agree it's a reasonable choice. I need to dig around to get a source for clavile which is missing from Wiktionary, plus motobirota, claviatura and plectrologium. Where I see something missing from Wiktionary that you have here, I'm adding it to Wiktionary, or at least most of the time. Once I've finished with macrons and Wiktionary links, I'll probably go back to adding existing audio and double checking Wiktionary entries.
