The original is the German version, all other versions started as translations of the German course. Currently the German course is the most developed version. --Bernhard Fastenrath 21:32, 31 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Entrepreneur

edit

According to Wiktionary, an entrepreneur is "A person who organizes and operates a business venture and assumes much of the associated risk."

An internet entrepreneur then is "A person who organizes and operates an internet business venture and assumes much of the associated risk."

This is not the same as trying to use the internet to obtain money. --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 01:46, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Internet entrepreneurship involves being an Internet entrepreneur. Specifically, someone who is an Internet entrepreneur attempts to earn money online using The Internet." from Internet entrepreneurship. Earning money is called employment. The purpose of a business is to provide goods or services first. A good business plan aims to do this either to make a profit or be not-for-profit. An entrepreneur may not receive a return per efforts, but beggars who solicit online provide no goods or services.

I've noticed that no effort was made to delete this resource until user Michael Ten began changing this resource without discussing these changes first with the resource creator. The resource without user Michael Ten's intervention is a good resource. I will do what I can to keep it that way. --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 02:05, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Anyone is free to discuss possible changes here on this Discuss page. If the resource creator and developer disagrees with the suggested change, the discussion is over. I've restored those changes made that the resource creator and developer have implicitly agreed with. --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 02:58, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

You've restored the examples which I deleted intentionally. A point against that would be that this may be giving more assistance to arbitrary people than one should logically offer to arbitrary unknown people. I don't want to imply a world view where one should not be of assistance to arbitrary unknown people, but if any business idea would promote excessive wealth then that would be to the potential disadvantage of a larger group of people participating in the same economy, if nothing else because wealth is relative. The coconut farmer on Fiji is likely to loose against successful internet businesses anyway. According to the categorical imperative it doesn't seem wise to promote the wealth of arbitrary unknown people because they may not be the best choice of people (e.g. philanthropes). Even though the course may appear to promote this world view the success of this intent could be lesser than what one might wish for. This deduction is simple, because that appears to be the state of affairs world wide. Look at the delay of the MDGs for instance. --Bernhard Fastenrath 10:40, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
IT brings about three things. It helps managers and corporate executives in some industries to huge income. It allows in some services to replace employees by software. And in the automation of factories, it is more advantageous to their owners than to their employees.
Please feel free to improve the ethical education aspect of the course until the problem is solved. --Bernhard Fastenrath 12:12, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

An IP reading your resource apparently attempted to find the links included here: "A very simple reservation system (Very Simple Reservation System) is under development on SourceForge in the public domain, a fork is being developed on GNU Savannah as Free Reservation System under the GNU Affero license."

I also tried Very Simple Reservation System and Free Reservation System and learned these are either no longer active or have been changed. Do you know what the new links are? --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 02:50, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

The projects are both discontinued. --Bernhard Fastenrath 12:12, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
