Perhaps the UMPC can be build with diy low-cost microcontrollers/motherboards such as the Roundsolutions C10/3 (or other as GPRS is not needed). See http://www.roundsolutions.com/uk_products.htm Other manufacturers include Parallax. 64-bit processors include the Intel Atom, yet these type of motherboards cannot be build yourself. Other possibilities are the ARM processors such as those present in intel mobile devices, smartphones, ebook readers, ...
