Talk:Geographic touchpoints

I think I should like to conduct a study of "average distance" between an individual's birth place and death place, based on the year they were born. I suppose one could use Wikipedia biographies to randomly select data points. Anyone else interested in helping? -- Thekohser 20:27, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Using WP biographies would introduce a significant bias. Moving tends to make a person known by more people, and hence ups their chances to have an article in Wikipedia. Cheers, Guido den Broeder 22:41, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'll help, because I want to encourage original research on WV. All original research is biased, to answer Guido's point. If Wiki bios are used, they will show patterns, if any, for people considered notable. I'm not sure what such a study would show, but that's the point of original research.
