Use IPA for the transcriptions
editRight now, the page is using pseudo-English spelling somehow fit into French vowels, but it isn't even clear how speakers should read it. We should just use IPA, especially since French dictionaries, unlike English dictionaries, use IPA when they do give phonetic transcriptions. 2A0C:5A81:4303:2100:28C5:6307:223B:77D (discuss) 15:42, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed 100%. Even if it was to make the pronunciation more readily understandable to English learners, it’s inconsistent at points and doesn’t accurately portray the sounds pronounced. If even ipa is unattractive for readability reasons, the current transcriptions still should have some reform. 50.77.14.33 (discuss) 17:22, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
