Talk:Assistant teacher course/Citizenship education/Why is the citizenship education handout not used?
The following course phrase (Testing and grading) mentiones the citizenship education handout for teachers but it isn't (yet) used in this phase. There are several reasons:
- The pupils can be motivated to question the organization of the course, which is beneficial when they start writing their own book. The pupils may believe that they can do better.
- The handout can be boring for young pupils. It doesn't develop the topic but presents a "perfect" example solution, which can inhibit further reflection.
- If nobody asks for the handout in the Testing and grading phase there is more opportunity for the pupils to reflect about their own thinking.
