That is a different project, and is a different translation. "Farther along" is therefore irrelevant. The goal here is the translation process, which is highly educational. The goal there is a result, a "wikisource" translation. That project is fraught with difficulties that don't apply here, because religious source text translation raises problems which have occupied scholars for centuries and on which there is no consensus, there can be different camps. Wikisource already hosts many different translations of the Bible, so it is unclear to me why a new "Wikisource" translation, which must involve unreviewed original research and the collapse of many opinions into a single text, a kind of synthesis, is even allowed. Perhaps there are users who think that translation is just a matter of looking up words in a dictionary and using a grammar. We can see problems with Discussion_of_the_Wikisource_Translation_of_the_Bible (which should really be moved to a subpage.) Those are very minor problems, there can be and will be much more significant ones. See [1] for the translation guideline there, which is naive or at least highly restrictive.

The Wikisource translation is incorporated by reference, and other Wikisource translations should also be linked.

I see the projects as complimentary. Certainly the project here may create content that could be ported there, if it is considered ready, and any user can do this. Here, though, the possible discussion that can arise over translation may be of more value than the translation itself. This is Wikiversity, education is our product. --Abd 17:41, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
