TESOL/Lesson Plan

This is a universal lesson plan for TESOL. At each stage of a lesson there are different techniques that a teacher can use that will most likely work given the number of students, their abilities, their level of motivation, and so on.

Present

• listen and repeat
• substitution drill
• look at a question speculate on the corresponding answer, or vice versa
• change a sentence to be true for one's own case

Practice

• fill in the gaps
• change underlined parts of a text
• match sentence halves
• match questions with answers
• match sentences of equal meaning
• read, cover, and recall (e.g. a story)

Produce
