TAO/How to participate in the TAO Community of Practice?/unit 1
Get started on Wikiversity and in the TAO Community of Practice
When you have completed the following steps, you will have learned how to edit this wiki and you will have made your first meaningful contributions to the TAO Community of Practice
Step 1
editGo to the Startpage of the TAO Community of Practice (open the page in a new window) and get a first idea of what it is about. Also have a look at the members page in order to see who else is part of this community of practice.
Step 2
editLog into this wiki using your personal login. If you don't have a user account yet, create one by clicking here: Special:UserLogin (that is the link in the top right corner of this web page).
As a user name, you may choose a pseudonym or your real name.
Step 3
editTake the Wikiversity introduction tour in order to learn the basics about Wikiversity and to get some first instructions on how to edit this wiki.
Step 4
editAdd your name and additional information to the members page of the TAO Community of Practice.
Click on the "edit" button and add your name and additional information in the table, following the example of the other users. If you find it too difficult to complete the table, you may just leave your information on the talk page as indicated.
If you want, you can also add additional information about yourself to your user page.
To edit your user page, you need to click on your user name in the top navigation of this page. By the way: There is an extensive guide about creating user pages and customizing the Wiki at the Wikipedia User Page Design Center
Step 5
editTake five minutes to think about your first steps on the Wikiversity platform and what you would like to do next in the TAO Community of Practice. In what areas would you require some guidance or assistance? - By sharing your thoughts on the feedback page you'll help us improve this learning module and develop appropriate support offerings. Thank you.
