Student Projects/White Sauce Macaroni


                            This is an easy macaroni recipe that you can make it in chicken or beef or vegetables alone. The recipe might look too long but trust me it’s very easy to make. Macaroni and Maggi are among the favourites of most of us. And this recipe of white sauce macaroni is surely going to be a treat to your tummy.

                      The best part about this recipe is that it is so versatile. You can add vegetables, chicken, prawns, beef according to your liking. Instead of macaroni, pasta can also be used according to your liking. It’s smooth and aromatic white sauce is made from butter, milk and all purpose flour ( maida ). Prepare this lightly spiced white sauce, boil some chicken, stir-fry veggies, boil pasta and mix them all. And it’s done. The texture is beautiful and it is all sorts of delicious. This white sauce macaroni is a guaranteed way to delight your taste buds. 


For boiling macaroni : One cup macaroni / any pasta of your choice. 4 cups of water or as required to boil. 1 tbsp oil. Salt to taste.

For boiling chicken : 1/4 kg chicken. 4 cups of water or as required to boil. 2 tbsp pepper powder. Salt to taste.

For white sauce : 1 tbsp butter. 1 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour ( maida ). 1 cup milk. 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped. 1 small carrot, finely chopped. 1 tbsp red chilli flakes. 1 tbsp oregano.


Boiling Macaroni recipe : In a large vessel, add water, little oil, macaroni and salt. Cook the macaroni for 10 to 12 minutes. Later, drain the pasta and keep it aside.

Boiling Chicken recipe : In a large vessel add chicken, water, pepper powder, salt. Cook the chicken for 10 to 12 minutes. Later drain the chicken and cut the chicken into small pieces.

White sauce recipe : Firstly, in a large pan add oil and sauté carrot and garlic. Then keep it aside in another bowl. Now to the same pan add some butter and sauté maida. Then add milk in 2 or 3 batches and whisk 2 to 3 times. Continue to whisk till a smooth paste is formed. The paste should not be very thick or very loose. It should be medium thickness. Further, add salt, red chilli flakes, oregano. Mix well and keep the sauce to boil for some time.

White sauce macaroni recipe : Add the stir-fried vegetables to the white sauce. Stir for 2 minutes. Then add the pasta and chicken to the white sauce and stir well for almost 5 minutes. Then season with salt, red chilli flakes and oregano. Give a good mix and transfer it into a serving bowl. Garnish your macaroni with some oregano or cheese and serve.
