Introduction of Shandilya Samhita

Shandilya Samhita is a Sanskrit text attributed to the Vedic sage Brahmarshi Shandilya. It is treatise on Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha and Bhakti. It is the collection of Shandilya Sutras to the devotion of the God. It is an ancient Indian philosophical text.

Parts of Shandilya Samhita

  1. Dharma Khanda
  2. Artha Khanda
  3. Kama Khanda
  4. Moksha Khanda
  5. Bhakti Khanda

It is said that the first four Khandas of the original Shandilya Samhita have been lost. Presently only the last fifth Khanda called as Bhakti Khanda of Shandilya Samhita has been survived. Here we will discuss about only Bhakti Khanda of Shandilya Samhita.

Bhakti Khanda

Bhakti Khanda is divided into four sections. There are 20, 9, 11 and 16 chapters in the first, second, third and fourth sections respectively.
