Here to learn a few things

edit

Like the subject line says, I am here to possibly learn a few things.

Introduction

edit

Hello, I'm joining this community so that I can supplement my current self taught knowledge of CS. I don't plan on editing any major content, but I do plan on posting suggestions for expansion where I have questions. There is so much knowledge available for free on the internet, I look forward to taking these courses!

Free/Open Source computer science

edit

I am interested in studying computer science using exclusively, to the best of my ability, Free/Open Source software.--Brylie (discusscontribs) 20:21, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

New Student, primarily for C programming.

edit

I am trying to learn advanced topics on C programming. I am currently enrolled at Cochise College, and am taking Data Structures in C, and Discrete Mathematics.

I have some experience with C, Assembler, C#, HTML, Javascript, JQuery, CSS, and Unityscript (for Unity3d).

I am familiar with old school BASIC, and with Ruby, though I don't have much experience with them.

I am willing to help those that ask me questions if I am able.

Want to learn more about how technology works

edit

I have a background in Economics and Political Science and have been convinced by a good friend that Comp. Sci. is an intellectually-challenging field of study. As technology invades our lives, I am curious about the "clockwork" that makes modern inventions possible. I just started working in the computer software industry, in a company that is rapidly growing and I am eager to expand my knowledge, to move on to more technical work.
