Rivers State University

The Rivers State University (RVSU), formerly Rivers State University of Science and Technology,[1] is a public university located in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It was first established as a university college in 1972 and later became a full fledged university in 1980. RVSU has a student population of over 29,000 as of 2017 supported by 3000 faculties and staff.[2] It is the first technological university in Nigeria and also the first university to be situated within the Niger Delta. In 2014, it was rated as Nigeria's best E-learning institution and was ranked as the 15th best university in the country.
