Here's how I propose to lay out this course. I will walk the user through each new topic by using a common database which I will build on lesson by lesson. I will develop and test my tutorial on MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle Express and link to instructions to install and configure each. I may get around to testing SQL Server 2005, but I only have unfettered access to that at the office and usually have other work to do there :-) I will show some favor towards MySQL since it is has the most complete implementation of SQL, is widely supported, and easy to install and configure on many platforms. If there are no objections, I shall begin writing. I estimate that I will have all chapters written in first draft form by January 1st, 2007. AustinSmith 07:51, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Question

What about laying out the course using common college/university semantics? For instance, I'm interested in the Microsoft SQL Server course, but the content spans from very basic to extremely advanced. So does it make sense to have a Microsoft SQL Server 101, 201, etc. level courses? Also, where are the objectives for each course? Does it make sense for each course to have an "Objectives" landing page? I can think of about 10 objectives for a Microsoft SQL Server 101 course, for instance. Each one would constitute a different lesson. Just not sure how you're doing it here. Thanks SqlPac 03:47, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
