The Irish Language

Gaeilge (Irish) is the national and first official language of the Republic of Ireland, an official language of the European Union, and an officially recognised minority language in Northern Ireland. Once the primary language of the island of Ireland, it is now a minority language with a growing community of speakers and learners in Ireland and across the world.
