PlanetPhysics/Vector Potential
Let\, \, be a vector field in with continuous partial derivatives.\, Then the following three conditions are equivalent:
- The surface integrals of over all contractible closed surfaces vanish:
- The divergence of vanishes everywhere in the field:
- There exists the vector potential \, \, of :
Under those conditions, the vector field is called solenoidal .
