Naegleria infection
Naegleria infections are caused by Naegleria fowleri. Infection of the central nervous system (CNS) can causes death in 4 to 21 days. This organism enters the CNS through mucus membranes of the nose. Once it enters the CNS it is very difficult to treat. Symptoms; nausea,vomiting,loss of sense of smell, irrational behavior, coma, death. PREVENTION; keep your head above water.
