AGENDA SATURDAY 27 of November, 2021- Saturday, at 9:00 in Panama, 15:00 in Spain and France, 17:00 in Russia, and 22:00 in Manila group meeting with: VC, LC, OJ, DL, ID, DIP

  1. Status French application - delayed, VC will be head of application
  2. Diabetes short article status - ready to submit in a couple of weeks
  3. Prevalence T2DM data collection status: ongoing in Spain and start in Colombia soon

  5. The 16th International Symposium on Maritime Health Athens, Greece, June 2021- propose online short 1 day seminar

AGENDA SATURDAY 6 NOVEMBER 2021 with: VC, LC, OJ, DL, ID

  1. Diabetes Article for “Primary Care Diabetes”- all group members are asked to contribute in writing certain topics.
  2. Study of T2DM prevalence in seafarers and fishermen- ongoing in Spain (LC), and the protocol may be used in other countries, such as Russia, Philippines, Indonesia, India (ID), and France (DL).

AGENDA SATURDAY 2 OCTOBER 2021 with DP, DL, ID, LC, OJ, VC Agenda proposals:

  1. Diabetes groups- It is necessary to create a diabetes group and involve those who are interested to work with diabetes.
  2. ID will ask an Indian colleague
  3. OJ will prepare the questions for a paper format
  4. ICOH Conference interest
  5. STENO Diabetes Center- have experts who can help with researching and provide the best advice.
  6. French meeting- Continue collaboration with EF regarding different European funding programs; a specific subject/objective is needed to be clarified. A proposed objective: advance research and training in maritime health in the EU and beyond it. DL will try to organize a meeting with EF to discuss the objectives.
  7. EU-COST application- DL will not try again to apply for the EU-COST program, but thinm of other possibilities
  1. Thailand data for students- DP can find some students from Global Health (e.g. from Philippines and Africa) to analyze the data. DL will contact colleagues from Vietnam.
  2. Homepage- continue editing the website.
  3. Diabetes data- Toby- LC will contact Toby.
  4. Medical exam- urine sugar- OJ made a proposal to the Journal of Primary Care Diabetes (Editor Elsevier) to update the international guidelines regarding the diagnosis of T2DM among transport workers. All are invited to contribute to this article. Deadline- mid November 2021; up to 1000 words and 20 references for the article.

Russian meeting- ID participated in a Saint Petersburg forum regarding Arctic maritime medicine. The WHO has all the documents for Sputnik V, so it is not necessary to revaccinate seafarers.

  1. SEMM Conference 29.10.2021- The Conference will take place online, and everyone are invited to participate. The main subject: the transmissible diseases among seafarers and fishermen.
  2. Seafarers' COVID vaccine- Sue produced for IMHA interim advice for vaccination of seafarers against COVID-19.
  3. GHQ12 data UMIP- UMIP is interested in the GHQ12 and started to collect data; They will maybe be interested to collect diabetes data.
  4. Costa Rica AMP-Terminal- Is a new advancement, since they have good data to be analyzed.
  5. Allergic diseases among seafarers- LC will include and exclude articles for a literature review.

AGENDA SATURDAY 7 AUGUST 2021 with DP, DL, ID, LC, OJ, VC, HE

  1. Diabetes groups- On 15th of August, HE will start to collect data, using the questions from the protocol, for a period of 6 months and calculate the prevalence. OJ will prepare the questions for a paper format. ID will ask an Indian colleague if he would like to also collect data for this topic.
  2. Mahrenet webinars- LC proposed to create a special MHRE-NET web page.
  3. MAHRE.Net webpage - good idea, go on OJ will create a new MONO.Net homepage in the next few weeks
  4. Mahrenet Wikiversity Homepage- All members should continue to work on it.
  5. French meeting- (DL)- will help to organize a French meeting next week to discuss different projects relevant for this network; everyone is welcome to join the meeting.
  6. Data collection planned- DL can ask a colleague in Vietnam to collect data, and also ask some colleagues to collect data from different African countries. Costa Rica data collection of port workers follows.
  7. Well-being fishermen students. Systematic review.- DL proposed a systematic review about the well-being and Mental health of fishermen and fishermen’s students, and DL will work on it.
  8. The Russian meeting- ID announced there will be a conference in Tomsk and Moscow on 10th of September 2021. OJ will prepare a presentation for that meeting.
  9. Revision of the WHO/IMO/ILO Med Guide for ships- OJ participate in revision on behalf of CMSS , ID will find out whether it is possible to contribute to revising the future International Guide for ships.
  10. ICOH- International Commission on Occupational Health- The deadline to submit an abstract is at the end of August when the next ICOH conference takes place. OJ will propose and send a topic to ICOH next week. VC clarifies whether a session is free, and if not how much is it.
  11. Agreements of collaboration- DP will propose two topics for publication to the Lancet Commission.

  1. Ongoing data compiling GHQ12 in Thailand, Venezuela & Denmark-Telemed and Italy (Covid)
  2. BSc.PubH and McPubH in Denmark analyze the data for their thesis
  3. LC will take contact to R&V in Tarragona to ask for McPubHealh students who wish to analyze data

  5. The ILO/Europeche wants us to help with the specific guidelines for the health examinations of fishermen
  6. We look for possible COST joint projects, that can for example be EU maritime training materials and training
