Why would you not want to train a task that is accomplished infrequently?

Skills need to be transferred to the workplace and used and reinforced. Infrequent tasks are better when supported through the use of a job aid, electronic performance support system (EPSS), or other means. Teaching a skill that is not going to be used within a reasonable length of time can contribute to unnecessary overload. Instead, focus on skills that are used often and/or are critical. See how the Learning Objectives group does this for detailed feedback on their lesson quizzes. They use a "< Back" link to do this.
