TRIUMPHA'LIA. The ornaments and insignia conferred upon a general at his triumph; consisting of an embroidered toga and tunic (TOGA, 4., picta, and TUNICA, 14., palmata), a sceptre with the image of an eagle on its top (SCEPTRUM, 4.), a chaplet of laurel leaves and a crown of gold (CORONA, 1.), and a car decorated with ivory carving (CURRUS, 4.).
