TES'TA (ὄστρακον, κεράμιον). A general name for any kind of vessel made of baked clay or earthenware (Plin. Virg. Hor. &c.); a tile (Vitruv. ii. 8. 19. TEGULA); a broken fragment of tiles or pottery. Ov. Met. viii. 661. Juv. iii. 270.
