OPIL'IO (οἰοπόλος). A shepherd, or a shepherd boy who watches a flock of sheep at pasture. (Plaut. As. iii. 1. 36. Columell. vii. 3. 13. xi. 1. 18.) The illustration (Opilio/1.1) is from an ancient manuscript of Virgil in the Vatican library.
