CHRYSEN'DETA (χρυσένδετα). The name given to a particular manufacture of plate employed by the wealthy Romans for their table services, but the precise character of which is not ascertained; excepting that the name itself and the epithets applied to it, appear to indicate that the articles were made upon a basis of silver, with ornaments of gold either inlaid, or chased in relief upon it.
