BICLIN'IUM. A sofa, or couch, adapted for two persons to recline on at their meals, &c. (Plaut. Bacch. iv. 3. 84. and 117.) It is a hybrid word, half Latin and half Greek, (Quint. i. 5. 68.) The example (Biclinium/1.1) is from a Roman bas-relief.
