AGMINA'LIS, sc. equus. A sumpter horse, which follows an army for the purpose of carrying the arms, accoutrements, and baggage, as in the example (Agminalis/1.1) from the Column of Trajan, which shows one of these animals laden with the shields and helmets of the Roman soldiers.
