Human research ethics

  • Purpose of research: Public good
  • Permission: In order to access a community of interest, the researcher must seek permission from the "gatekeepers" of the institution or community group through appropriate ethics avenues (Rice & Ezzy, 2001) which is likely to include research ethics committees (IRB).
  • Informed consent
  • Anonymity
  • Right to results
