Short Description Analysis and understanding of drawings, materials and concepts used in the de Menil Residence located in East Hamptons New York by Gwathmey Siegel Inc. By using volume and mass on the interior, the architect was able to bring emphasis to different elements. The large scale of the house and its resemblance to an ocean liner enable the building to connect to its surrounding natural environment of water and land. While the incorporation of the green house creates a transition zone between the natural exterior and the interior.
