English: A scanning electron microscopy image of a tiny dielectric mirror being cut from a larger piece of material. The alternating layers of Ta2O5 and SiO2 which form the mirror are clearly visible. The finished mirror will be attached to a tiny mechanical resonator as part of an experiment on micro-optomechanical systems.
