Nadzieja - pierzaste stworzenie - Mości się w duszy na grzędzie - Śpiewa piosenkę bez słów - I zawsze śpiewać będzie -
Srogi sztorm musiałby się zerwać - By spłoszyć małego ptaka, Który tylu rozgrzewał -
Na morzu obcym i głuchym - Lecz nigdy - w największej potrzebie - Nie prosił - mnie - o okruchy - |
Hope – the feathered creature – Snugs in the roost in the soul – Sings a song without words – And will always sing –
A harsh storm would have to break – To startle the little bird That was keeping so many warm –
On the sea strange and deaf – But never – in the biggest need– Asked – me – for crumbs – |
“Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all -
And sore must be the storm - That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm -
And on the strangest Sea - Yet - never - in Extremity, It asked a crumb - of me.[2] |
