Earth Station/Zebra

Earth Station - Zebra is a VOR placed upon the Earth's North Polar Ice cap. The station is staffed by a force of "Zebras" in Black and White striped uniforms who are specially trained and equipped to deal with the Arctic conditions. This commando unit has been conditioned to respond to the needs of high-security protocols, emergency Space and Air traffic control, Medical logistics, Material handling of every concievable kind, and are basically the "cream-of-the-crop" of enlisted personel. Only specially qualified people are allowed at Z.

Earth Station/Zebra is a "stripped-down" version of the typical Earth Station. It is prototypical in many ways in that it containsOnly the bare essentials. Conversly, its "counterpart" at the south pole, Earth Station/Alpha, is literally a "city-under-glass" with all of the creature comforts including Schools, Hospitals, Nursuries, Stores, Production facilities and a general population of thousands of souls.
