Pen Y Fan, Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons)

Wales (Welsh: Cymru) is one of the six Celtic nations. It is located in Western Europe at the Western peninsula of Great Britain. It has been granted an assembly and a local government in recent years - this is helping to aid the devolution from 'English' government that the Welsh so desperately want. The Welsh language is now taught in many Welsh schools as a first language but is compulsory up to the age of 16 to those in English-medium education. It is spoken by around 22% of the Welsh population and is rising each year due to great effort made by the Welsh assembly.
