editQuestions to ask yourself
edit1. Do I have a firewall? (hardware or software)
2. Do I have an anti-virus scanner?
3. Do I have a spyware scanner?
NOTE: Certain Operating Systems such as Mac OSX may not NEED any or all of the programs listed, this list is based on a Windows operating system. It is suggested that you read "A Neutral Look at Operating Systems" to determine the vulnerabilities of the operating system you use.
If you answered "No" to any of those questions: Look into getting what you lack, there are FREE software programs for each of the three basic computer security apps listed in the questions. Please note the FREE ones may not be as good as ones you have to pay for. Click Here for a list of many possible security apps, including their price, and where to download or buy them.
If you answered "Yes" to all of those questions: Well good job, be sure to continue to keep them updated or they will loose effectiveness.
