CAT 2013 Face-2-Face meeting

edit

You are about to travel to Lyon - and probably you are already browsing your tour guides what else you can do in Lyon apart from learning about ICT. We want to give you the opportunity to organise yourselves ! A great way of doing so is a WIKI - you use WIKIs all the time when you are using WIKIPEDIA. In this WIKI you can put together your own trip the way you want it. Attached to your welcome mail you found the programme and a link to the Google Doc that allows you to reserve restaurants in the evenings - the attendance is optional so that you can also plan your own trips together with others in the same time slots. This WIKI should help you with that. If you are interested - write down ideas you have for your trip and when you want to do it - maybe you arrive early on sunday and seek others from the course - to join you! Maybe some of the evenings you want to take off and attend a cultural event instead of sitting in a restaurant - just put your idea in this wiki - for our information and for your fellow course members - we are excited to get you to network and create your own trips… Here is a website where you can find all the events going on in Lyon. You might want to have a look to start your own visits : http://www.en.lyon-france.com/Discover-Lyon

Henrik Radvan - Klett Physlab Atom- und Kernphysik

Name small description time needed for introduction
Sönke Graf Owncloud (General): Owncloud is a system to synchronize data via multiple computers. It works pretty much like Dropbox with the exception that it is entirely free software and works on your own server. This technolgy is not reduced to science education but can work in multiple contexts. 30-45 min.
Sönke Graf Speed-Up (Physics): A software built with the MIT App Inventor for Android based devices. It shows the acceleration measured by the device in table or graph form. The software was developed by a student of mine 30-45 minutes
Ingo Opolka Remotely Controlled Laboratories - RCLs (Physics): RCLs (http://rcl-munich.informatik.unibw-muenchen.de) are real experiments which can be executed through the internet. A user at a location A is allowed to conduct an experiment at a distant location B via his computer. Controlling the experiment is enabled by accessing an interface and a web server. Webcams allow the user to observe the on-going experiment. 20 min
Jan Winkelmann GeoGebra (Physics): Geometrical optics bases on the concept of light rays. The rays and their characteristics while shining through a lense can be shown with the geometry program GeoGebra. I will focus on the aberration. 10 min
Anastasia Louka Interactive Physics :The reconstruction of alternative ideas of 15 year old students at Inertia Law, using exploratory microworlds designed at the educational software "Interactive Physics. Worksheets, Recorded dialogues, evaluation of the effort 15 min
Burak Zeki Gunes Geometer's Sketchpad: A Dynamic Geometry Software. I used this software in my classes for my master thesis. I made an application about circle theme. I am planning to represent my application on GSP. 15 min.
Henrik Radvan Klett Physlab Atom- und Kernphysik I use this program already for more than 5 years in the 10th grade and in the 12th. It's a nice working tool for the students to find some news first of all in nuclear physics.

15 min

Tânia Pinto Simulations in Biology (2 examples: natural selection and influence of abiotic components in plant growth) 10 min
Nicole Marmé Lucycity (Marmétics) 10 min
Jens-Peter Knemeyer Lucycity (NanoOxideResearchAssociation) 10 min
Harald Zigala youtube, nasa, OneNote, k12, chemistry interactive 40 min
Robert Planeskog Data logg using pasco equipment 10 min
Anastasios Krokidis Irydium Virtual Lab: Application οn stoichiometry and titration 10 min
Sebastian Stüber OpenCalc (Physics): Small-step approximation (sort of integration) of linear movements (free fall, fall with air resistance, harmonic oscillations). 10 min
Duarte Januário Modellus - Interactive modelling with mathematics; Audacity - Free digital audio editor 10 min
Didier Morel Podcasting : recording and publishing audio files : means and ways, uses and limits, evaluation
