Blended learning and online teaching/Preparations, set up and accessing webstream

Panelists

edit

Thankyou to the panelists offering your time and insights for us.

After sending out an open invitation we're collecting 250 word summaries of people's work and experiences, then recording short video interviews on Google Hangouts. It is hoped these short texts and interviews will offer good background to other panelists, and follow up information for audiences.

We're webstreaming the panel discussion on the day, using Hangouts on Air. Hangouts on Air sends the stream to Youtube where people can watch it live, and at the completion of the presentation it will leave a recording at the same Youtube page. People can access the webstream and the eventual Youtube recording at the Teachers of Health Professionals community page.

As the presentations take place, we're encouraging audience members to collaboratively make notes on Meetingwords.com. Meeting word pads will be created before the sessions, and linked in the panel's Wikiversity page, and the event page on Google+. These notes will be copied back to the Wikiversity page for each panel, and tidied up for final copy.

Once the video recording is available on Youtube, we will take a copy and upload it to Archive.org. Archive will make a copy of the video to an open standard format. Once we have the video in an open standard format, we'll publish it on Wikimedia Commons and embed it on the Wikiversity page for the relevant presentation.

Panelists will need to consider this publication and distribution method, and agree to copyright license their work Creative Commons Attribution. For these reasons presenters must take care with the copyright, trademark and privacy of others, and ensure they are not publishing anything they do not have the right or permission to publish.

Watching the webstream

edit

We're webstreaming using Hangouts on Air. Hangouts on Air sends the stream to Youtube where people can watch it, and at the completion of the presentation it will leave a recording at that Youtube page. People can access the webstream and the eventual Youtube recording at the Teachers of Health Professionals community page. People viewing may need to refresh their page before and between panels to ensure they are seeing the latest webstream.

At the same time the webstream is going out, there will be a meetingwords collaborative notepad set up for each panel. Find the link to these notepads in the panel Wikiversity pages, or on the Teachers of Health Professionals page.
