editIn Residential home design, listed below are some basic design types. There are many types, from small huts, to large expansive, multi-level mansions and castles.
Some basic types are:
- One-story Ranch houses
- One and One-half houses
- Two story houses
- Split-level houses
Each type has strengths, and weaknesses, which must be accounted for, and considered before making a choice. Designs can be "ordered" or classical in nature, or can be very asymetrical and seemingly disordered.
