Summary

Description Pyroxenite banding at the boundary of a peridotite intrusion in the Western Gneiss Region, Otrøy, Møre og Romsdal, Norway. The peridotite is seen above (mocca-colouring from weathered olivine; some purple garnets), followed by a clinopyroxenite band (greenish Cr-diopsite) and orthopyroxenite (dark olive). Red minerals are garnet. Coin of 1 euro for scale.
