Description
English: Dialectical behavior therapy can help with emotion regulation and social skills. It was first developed for borderline personality disorder but can also be effective in complex PTSD, autism, and other conditions. This diagram explains 4 skills taught: Mindfulness (focusing on the present and relaxing), emotion regulation (coping with feelings and practicing self care), distress tolerance (defusing upsetting situations and enduring stress), and interpersonal effectiveness (setting boundaries and expressing needs).
