An academic econosystem is a production econosystem specialized for the development of advanced knowledge in learners, and is a means (under development) to structure economic relationships between participants in the academic enterprise.

The economic interactions between participants in the academic enterprise vary according to the organization of the particular institution.

Information currency provides a means to structure the academic econosystem on the basis of exchange of financial instruments deriving some amount of their value from original information, which is an underlying asset for the traded instruments.
