Alternative derivation

Under 'Cylindrical from Cartesian unit vectors' we have for example ${\begin{aligned}{\hat {\boldsymbol {\rho }}}&={\frac {x{\hat {\mathbf {x} }}+y{\hat {\mathbf {y} }}}{\sqrt {x^{2}+y^{2}}}}\\\end{aligned}}$ Should this not also include the 'projection' equivalent of ${\begin{aligned}{\hat {\boldsymbol {\rho }}}={\hat {\mathbf {x} }}\cos \left({\phi }\right)+{\hat {\mathbf {y} }}\sin \left({\phi }\right)\\\end{aligned}}$ etc.? --Aksmith777 (discuss • contribs) 23:41, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
